Professor David Brown is the Director of the Computing and Informatics Research Centre (CIRC) and the Research Group Leader for the Interactive Systems Research Group (ISRG) at Nottingham Trent University. His research primarily focuses on enhancing accessibility, developing virtual reality applications for rehabilitation, and creating multimodal affect recognition systems for personalized learning. He is also a pioneer in social robotics for education and the development of serious games aimed at improving physical and cognitive skills.
Professor Brown’s work is internationally recognized, with significant funding from various EU projects, including Horizon 2020, Erasmus+, and other initiatives focused on inclusive education and accessible technology. He has contributed extensively to the fields of accessibility, virtual environments, and serious games, holding roles such as Governor of Oak Field School and Conference Chair for the International Conference on Disability, Virtual Reality, and Associated Technology (ICDVRAT). Additionally, he serves as an Associate Editor for Frontiers: Virtual Reality in Medicine.
